Community Chess and Tournament Registration

Register for Chess Tournaments, Sign up for chess lessons, open play, make new friends, and have fun.  If you are a beginner interested in playing chess for the first time, sign up and join our six-week session on the Merit Principle of Chess.  Our six-week session starts with Chess hygiene, where we get you all set up, including registration on our virtual platform. Week two is an introduction to chess.  Week three is chess opening; Week four is Strategy and Tactics.   Week Five is the End game.  Finally, week six is the chess situation.  While learning to play, you will also join our chess matrix, where you'll play a chess season with other players in the Matrix.  You have to play a lot of chess to get better at chess.  During our six-week session, beginners meet on Tuesdays from 4-5 p.m.  Intermediate skill players meet on Fridays from 4-5 p.m.  Our synchronous session on Friday involves studying, analyzing and discussing great chess matches.  Beginners and Intermediates are encouraged to attend both days.  Our chess course is open to all ages.   For information about private lessons, rated play, USCF registration, purchasing chess sets and supplies and other meeting times, call 707 676 0901 or email ChairmanSCYC@gmail.org.  Signed up today.
